La Cucina al Focolare
One could hardly describe Tuscany without referring to the high ideals of the Renaissance, where man and nature were celebrated equally. The Medici courts of Florence pursued “beauty and the pleasure derived by beauty” without reservation, and this reflected in their contributions to art and their style of living: a certain intelligence concerning good taste, including, most of all, the table. All the riches of the countryside were delivered to their doors, supported by small producers and their own farmers whose stone farmhouses adjoined their estates.
At La Cucina al Focolare, we offer an environment that brings you straight to the heart of Tuscan culinary traditions – “the kitchen fireplace” – to cook with local ingredients and warm your spirit with superb soups and slow cooked meals in traditional Florentine style. Simple, yet sophisticated.
The fall program is in partnership with Zingerman’s Food Tours. We also offer individual trip consultations and private trip design for those traveling to Tuscany.
